Church History

True Light Worship Center, formerly known as True Light Apostolic Faith Church, was founded in 1948 by Dr. Carter Little and his wife Sister Annie D. Little. Its first site was located at the corner of Myrtle and Filbert Streets and remained there until 1971.

In 1971, the church moved to its present location, 3423 E. Horner Avenue at Broadway. This fulfilled Dr. Little’s vision to see a commendable church building erected to house the mother church of the California District Council (PAW) in the city of Stockton. Dr. Little served faithfully at True Light Apostolic Faith Church until he went to be with the Lord in 1996. From Dr. Little’s vision of establishing a mother church in the city of Stockton, many other ministries have been birthed.

On December 13, 1997, District Elder Charles E. Graham, Sr. and his wife, Sister Naomi Graham, were officially installed as Pastor and First Lady of True Light Apostolic Faith Church; now known as True Light Worship Center.

In 2001, we began Phase I of our building fund project. The present facility was renovated to better serve the membership and surrounding community. Renovations included the restrooms, secretary’s office, Pastor’s office, and the First Lady’s office complete with furniture and technology upgrades. The church entrance was moved from the South end of the building to the West side of the building to include a foyer and ramp for the disabled. In addition, a conference room was added.

On September 10, 2019, according to God’s will, Lady Naomi Graham was taken from labor to reward. Her passing was a great loss to the True Light Worship Center family and her love, laughter and faithful service will never be forgotten.

On April 10, 2021, the Lord blessed our Pastor to marry Lady Delores Graham. Lady Graham is a wonderful addition to the True Light Worship Center family, bringing a kind and loving spirit and wealth of knowledge. Her greatest contribution is her love and care for our Pastor as well as for the people of God.

In 2023, other improvements were made that included the remodeling of the Pastor’s office with new furnishings and new carpeting as well as the installation of a private bathroom, new flooring, vanity, and shower. In addition, new carpeting was installed in the conference room and upgrades were made to the sound system. The final upgrades and improvements were made to the First Ladies office in May 2024 that included new furnishings and new carpeting. While we rejoice in these accomplishments, we look forward to initiating Phase II of the project to build a multi-purpose facility on the North parking lot of the church.

Today, with the vision and leadership of Pastor Graham and Lady Delores Graham serving faithfully at his side; the church is thriving and the work of the Lord continues as “We walk by FAITH and not by SIGHT”!
